Chupacabra is the Shape Shifter kitchen sink site blend from the Buhl Memorial Vineyard, Willcox, in the Kansas Settlement of Cochise County, AZ. The blend changes slightly from year to year but is usually Grenache, Mourvédre, Syrah, and Petite Sirah.

 

This year's blend is 35% Grenache, 35% Syrah, and 30% Mourvedre. Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre are traditional partners (the wines are commonly referred to as GSMs).

 

Chupacabra is an easy quaffing blend grown at Buhl Memorial Vineyard in southern Arizona at 4300 ft elevation—juicy with warm aromatic spice notes and suggestions of leather, violets, salt, celery bitters, balsamic, anise, and white pepper.

  • The vineyard site is 80 acres with 60 acres planted. The soils are relatively deep loams and clay-loams interspersed with cobbles. The vineyard sits at 4300 feet and experiences up to 50 degree fluctuations in temperature during the growing season
